What we collect

PadelStays is a set of pre-rendered HTML pages. There are no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter, so there is nothing here that asks you who you are.

We do count visits. Our host, Vercel, provides two measurement tools and we use both:Vercel Analytics for page views and where visitors arrive from, andVercel Speed Insights for how quickly pages actually load on real devices. Both are cookie-free. They store nothing on your device, do not follow you between sites, and produce aggregate counts rather than a record of you — so they run for everyone and there is nothing to consent to. They are served from this same domain and processed by our host, Vercel; no other third party is involved.

We use Speed Insights because the alternative is guessing. The image formats and sizes on this site were chosen from measurements taken during the build, which cannot tell us anything about a phone on a hotel wifi in August.

What your browser does anyway

Our host sees standard web server request logs — IP address, page, time, user agent — because that is how HTTP works. We do not combine those with anything else or use them to build a profile.

Photographs are loaded from each hotel's own web server rather than copied here, so those servers see a request from your browser when a page with their photo loads. That is a consequence of crediting images to their source rather than rehosting them.

Filtering on /hotels/ runs in your browser: the hotel data is downloaded once as a single file and searched on your device. But a submitted search becomes part of the page address (for example /hotels/?q=marbella), so it appears in our host's request logs and in the page address our analytics records.

Maps

Hotel and destination maps show map tiles from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org). They load automatically when a map scrolls into view, without asking first, and only then — a page whose map you never scroll to makes no such request. To fetch the tiles your browser sends its IP address and the usual request headers (user agent, referring page) to the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which runs the tile servers under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or see that request.

Fonts are served from this site, so choosing a typeface does not send a request to a font provider.

When you leave

Booking links take you to Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia or the property's own website. Once you follow one you are on their site under their privacy policy, and they will do their own tracking. We have no visibility into what you do there, and no way to connect it back to your visit here.

If this changes

This page is written against what the site actually loads rather than what we intend, and it is generated from the same setting that switches the measurement on. If a tool is added or removed, this page changes in the same commit or the build is wrong.
